Self-Portrait and Ichi, Ni, and San Carp
as exhibited at The Textile Museum, Washington, DC
|
"Carol Westfall produces her water theme pieces, which are
alterations of photographs she has taken, with digital printing or
digital weaving or both technologies. She embraces these new
technologies while remaining true to the human spirit behind her
art.
Each of her works presents a contemplative moment in
time - a shadow on water, the splash of a carp in a dark pool, a
cascading waterfall - that is at once personal and universal.
Her mastery of hi-tech equipment allows her to create personal
statements that reflect her inner world without negating the work of
her hand."
- Technology as Catalyst:
exhibition at the Textile Museum in Washington, D.C.

| "My latest body of work is all about water - the sight and
sound of a waterfall, a stream or a sunny seashore. I hope this
series will produce a tranquil and fulfilling feeling in the
viewer."
